Common faults and analysis of SUNSHINE Industrial Wet Extruder Production


1. Conditioning

(1) The temperature of the feed at the conditioner outlet is uneven


① Is there any agglomerated feed attached to the inside of the conditioner;


② Are the steam pipeline accessories working properly, such as pressure reducing valve, steam trap, stop valve, etc.;


③ Ensure that the steam nozzle is unobstructed, especially at the manual regulating valve, so that an equal amount of steam must continuously enter the conditioner.


(2) The temperature is sufficient, but the humidity is insufficient


① Reduce the steam pressure entering the conditioner, but pay attention to the position of the pressure reducing valve must be 4.5n above the conditioner pipeline, generally 4.5~6m, and the size of the steam pipeline must be sufficient to transport the required amount of steam under such low pressure. The diameter of the steam pipeline inlet of the conditioner is generally 80~100mm.


② If the moisture content of the raw material is too low and the humidity does not meet the requirements after conditioning, you can consider adding water to the main mixer.


2. Extruder

(1) Unstable load on the main machine

① Is the feed control system of the feeder normal (inverter);

② Are there any arched feed blocks in the feed adhering to the spiral and the shell;

③ Are the extrusion screw and the extrusion chamber close together;

④ Are the raw materials and the additive liquid completely mixed in the extrusion chamber;

⑤ Is the dry steam supply sufficient (sharp pressure changes, water droplets condensed from the steam pipeline or brought from the boiler).


(2) The temperature of the bearing seat is too high

① Is the oil pump system working properly;

② The lubricating oil is exhausted or the amount is too little. It is best to check the amount of oil every 2~3 days, add oil in time and change oil regularly;

③ Is the bearing damaged.


(3) The body vibrates during operation

① Check whether the ground is flat; ② Is the bearing damaged.


(4) No material is discharged after the discharge die is installed or only feeds but no material is discharged (motor current is too high)

① The die is screwed in too deep, blocking the discharge gap. At this time, the discharge die should be properly screwed out;

② Too much material is added.


(5) The main machine cannot start or the expanded material cannot be produced normally 5 minutes after the operation process is completed according to the start-up procedure

① The raw materials in the machine are completely discharged during the previous shutdown, resulting in blockage between the spiral sleeve and the inner sleeve of the outer sleeve;

② The feed is too fast and too much;

③ The circuit is faulty.


(6) There is a harsh sound (belt slippage)

① Check whether the belt is appropriately tight;

② Too much material is added and the die hole is too small, causing blockage.
